About the Course

The ECB Umpire Course is an entry-level course designed for anyone who would like to umpire across all forms of recreational cricket.

Combining practical activities with scenario-based discussions, the course will help you develop the knowledge, confidence and skills needed to start umpiring at the lower levels of the recreational game.

No previous umpiring experience is necessary. Whether you are a player, coach, parent, volunteer or simply someone who loves cricket and would like to get more involved, this course is a great place to start.

The ECB Umpire Course replaces the previous courses delivered through the Association of Cricket Officials and is the route into the ECB umpire progression pathway, giving those who wish to develop their umpiring the opportunity to take their journey further.
