Entry to the 2023 Voneus Village Cup is now officially open – that means the Road to Lord’s starts here!
The National Village Cup is a 50+ year-old cricket tournament that celebrates the best of Britain’s grassroots cricket and culminates each season with that showpiece final at the Home of Cricket, Lords Cricket Ground.
Below are some key bits of information and eligibility requirements that clubs interested in entering the competition need to know.
- The first round of the 2023 Village Cup will be played in April 2023, with the draw taking place in February – the final takes place at Lord’s in September
- Competing clubs must be based in a rural community consisting of not more than 10,000 inhabitants (and isn’t a market town or has a town council)
- They cannot field any players who will play league cricket in their district’s top division next season – that means even clubs whose first XIs are in the Premier division can still be eligible to enter
- Each club must subscribe to The Cricketer Magazine
- Full list of National Village Cup rules and eligibility can be found here
