Hertfordshire Clubs get stuck in...
NatWest CricketForce took place throughout the country last weekend, with Hertfordshire Clubs getting stuck in to get their grounds, pavilions, and playing facilities up to scratch in anticipation for the fast approaching 2017 cricket season.
As in previous years, some lucky clubs that signed up were given access to a Jewsons account scheme, providing them with £250 worth of supplies from their local Jewson store to help with the work over the weekend.
There was a lot to do at all clubs, and Hertfordshire Cricket attended Hatfield Hyde Cricket Club on Friday 31st March, to get involved and lend a hand! We arrived around 10am to a list as long as your arm of jobs that needed completing throughout the weekend, and immediately got to work. Priorities for the day were scrubbing and painting the outside window panels, painting the clubhouse, cleaning the carpets, and giving the away team changing rooms a makeover.
This was thirsty work, but luckily we had Tanya Whitton of Hatfield Hyde CC and also with a Hertfordshire Cricket hat on providing us with tea, coffee and even a sausage sandwich to reward our early morning efforts!
On completion of the morning work, we presented Hatfield Hyde CC with a boundary rope for the upcoming season, kindly donated to us by the ECB. The afternoon session saw us attack the away team dressing room which was in need of some TLC, new flooring, scrubbed down seating and a fresh coat of paint left it looking welcoming to visitors of Hatfield Hyde CC this summer.
A huge well done to everyone at Hatfield Hyde for embracing NatWest CricketForce 2017, and thanks for your kind hospitality on the day! If you would like your club to be the Hertfordshire focus club next year, email Sam Rose on sam.rose@hertscricket.org and the Hertfordshire development team will choose a club to attend over NatWest Cricketforce 2018.
Around the county there was plenty of other clubs getting stuck in, thanks to all those that tweeted in with pictures of all the hard work taking place. Make sure you sign up again next year! Below is a selection of images from clubs around the county.
