Funding will enable the establishment of a new club
Herts Disabled Cricket Association have been successful in securing some funding in order to help start up a VI (Visually Impaired) cricket club in Hertfordshire. The funding will enable the association to fund an indoor facility and 10 sessions of cricket for people with visual impairments.
It is hoped as a result of those sessions that the 'club' will be self-sustaining moving forwards with the help of this funding.
The project will begin in September and will run in East Herts until Christmas.
The plan is that if the club were to attract good numbers of players and potential players, then entry into a national VI development league would be the natural progression.
Another part of the funding will be used to get VI people qualified as cricket coaches, making the club sustainability all that more possible.
