Board of Trustees - Announcement
.
The HCCA Trustees have received from Alistair Buchanan and Roger Abraham a letter of resignation from the Board of Trustees, which they have accepted with regret.
This leaves us with four trustees but our constitution says that the number of trustees shall be no fewer than four and no more than seven. We will need to consider whether they should be immediately replaced and, if so, by whom.
Whoever is appointed will not have the knowledge and history that Alistair and Roger have accumulated over very many years voluntary service to Hertfordshire cricket.
Alistair first joined the committee in 1970, chaired the Hertfordshire Young Cricketers from 1974 to 1992 before taking up the position of Chairman for a further 19 years. He was then elected President of the County in 2014. This length of service is unprecedented in Hertfordshire’s post war history.
Roger joined the committee in 1997 as membership secretary before becoming treasurer in 2003. In the last 16 years his excellent financial management has resulted in HCCA being in a very strong financial position. Over the years he has also been very active with the Hertfordshire Association of Cricket Officials, Women and Girls cricket and the organisation of the County Age Groups.
Alistair and Roger were founding members of HCL in 2009 and were responsible with others in creating the structure of two separate organisations which we have today (HCCA and HCL). Thank you both for your combined contribution of 71 years.
James Wright
President
Hertfordshire County Cricket Association
