Hertfordshire Schools Table Cricket Festival.....
A recent table cricket event was organised by Hertfordshire Cricket in partnership with the Lord’s Taverners, where teams from the county’s SEN schools entered.
With teams from Westfield, Lakeside, Lonsdale and Amwell View in attendance, a great days competitive table cricket was had by all. Lonsdale School in Stevenage were the host for the day, a school that is very active with its cricket programme and one that boasts one of the very few after-school cricket clubs in an SEN school in the country!
Playing a round-robin of games, Amwell View came out on top winning all but one of their games. The day’s competition gave the opportunity for over 50 young people with disability to take part in the day. With the help of some great support from staff the day was a huge success.
Now Amwell View School will go forward to representing Hertfordshire in the regional heats of the competition. Successful teams in the regional heats go forward to a finals day, to be held at Lords Cricket Ground.
Hertfordshire Cricket will be running a parallel competition for community groups. This will be hosted by Leyden House Day Service in Stevenage on the 15th March.
