Aldenham beat Frogmore to retain trophy......
The Hertfordshire Village Trophy Finals Day took place at Knebworth Park Cricket Club on Sunday 20th August, with a packed out crowd watching 3 competitive games of cricket. The 2 semi finals took place at 10.00am with the final taking place at 2.30pm.
In the Semi finals, Aldenham defeated Breachwood Green by 7 wickets as Breechwood Green posted 76-8 from their 20 overs. Aldenham chased it down for the lost of 3 wickets in the 13th Over.
Frogmore faced Watton-at-Stone in the other semi final and batted first, posting 128-9 from their 20 overs. Watton-at-Stone finished 27 runs short in their chase, closing on 101-9 from 20 overs.
In the final, Aldenham scored freely throughout and finish on 165-6 from 20 overs. Frogmore's reply began strongly and they were well placed at 30-0 from 4 overs. However wickets began to fall at regular intervals against a very disciplined attack and Frogmore finished 117 all out in the 20th over.
Congratulations to all 4 teams for making finals day and to Aldenham, who retained their title.
