2 Convincing wins for Herts at the world famous Kensington Oval, Barbados.......
Barbados U17 v Hertfordshire EPP
First T20 – Wednesday 12 April 2017
Kensington Oval, Barbados
Barbados U17 107 All Out
Hertfordshire EPP 108 for 1
Hertfordshire EPP win by 9 wickets.
A comprehensive 9 wicket victory based on a magnificent bowling and fielding performance expunged the memory of the previous days defeat. Alex Portas captained the side superbly but it was a victory based on a thoroughly professional and disciplined collective effort. The catching was brilliant - Jamie Regan and Teddy Duke.
There were two run outs one a direct hit by Scott Rolfe and the other a blistering throw from the boundary by David Burnell.
Barbados struggled to 50/5 such was the intensity of Hertfordshire cricket, it was not a mismatch it was just one side Hertfordshire performing superbly.
Wickets win games, so two stunning catches and two equally stunning run outs in the first 60 mins of a game destroys an opposition. The Barbadian innings stuttered to a 107 which on a Test Ground like the Kensington Oval was never going to be enough.
Alex Palmer and Lewis Hodgins set about the chase with some superb cricket shots, the only wicket to fall was Palmer needlessly run out and the rest was a stroll.

Second T20 – Wednesday 12 April 2017 (under floodlights)
Kensington Oval, Barbados
Hertfordshire EPP 148
Barbados U17 118 all out
Hertfordshire EPP win by 30 runs
The 2nd game was equally impressive and thrillingly the key performances for Hertfordshire were delivered by different players.
Hertfordshire batted first and scored 148 with half centuries for Rohan Day and George Langston and then reduce Barbados to 50/6, the bowling was aggressive and the wickets started to fall from the very start as Tom McCormick dived full length to his left to complete a spectacular catch. The opposition were learning that these catches were not flukes and two more diving catches completed the rout.
Barbados finished 30 runs short and Hertfordshire celebrated a double win, the second match under floodlights at one of the most spectacular grounds in World Cricket.
