At a presentation at the recent Hertfordshire County match at Hertford Cricket Club. Alex Axon received last year's Luke Westell award, an award made to the most promising Young Hertfordshire Cricketer of the season based on performances in competitive matches, attitude and approach to cricket and future potential.
The previous winners were Ben Waring, George Scott (now Middlesex CCC), Reece Hussain, Joe Cooke (now Glamorgan CCC) and Patrick Scott.
The picture above shows Alex having received the trophy from Geoff and Ronni Westell, Luke's parents along with Hertfordshire Secretary, Ian Potten.

Luke Westell played for Hertfordshire Young Cricketers from 1995-1997. He was a talented cricketer and musician, studying at Worcester College, Oxford University when he tragically passed way at the early age of 21. Luke's Godparents Carol and Bill Spicer donated this award in his memory.
