Indoor24 pilot project is a hit with schools.....
Hertfordshire Cricket teamed up with the ECB, Chance to Shine and Stevenage Sporting Futures Team to offer schools across the borough the opportunity to take part in a Indoor24 Cricket festival aimed at 6th Form Students.
The pilot project was delivered between February - May 2015 which included students taking part in a Cricket Activator course, which was designed to allow them to return to school to engage fellow students and arrange sessions for them to practice the format of Indoor24 leading up to the festival in May.
The students were supported by both their teachers, the Sporting Futures Apprentices and Hertfordshire Cricket's Schools & Community Officer.
The Nobel School, Thomas Alleyne Academy and John Henry Newman School participated in the project. At the festival on Friday 8th May, Each school played each other in a round robin competition. John Henry Newman won both of their fixtures to finish in 1st place, Thomas Alleyne Academy 2nd and The Nobel School 3rd.
All of the students enjoyed the different format and said that they would be "interested in playing the game at festivals against a number of different schools"
They also commented that "It's very quick and doesn't take that long to play, everybody gets a chance to do something"
We are hoping that we will be able to continue the work that we have done on the pilot project and roll this version of the game out across the county in the academic year 2015-2016.
