Norfolk won the toss and elected to bat. J Everritt bolstered their innings making 91 and received good support from J Euart who scored 56. At 153-4, Norfolk were heading for a “par” score for a 50 over innings. Enter, Connor Green, who batted very well with good strokes all around the wicket. His 50 came up in only 25 balls and when he was dismissed for 80 towards the end of the innings, he ensured Norfolk had made a competitive score of 276-7. 15 year old Andrew Neal (Chorleywood CC) took 3-59 from his 10 overs.
Herts started well in reply, 76 runs were added for the first wicket, before Dom Chatfield was run out for 23. Charlie Rudkin played confidently, hitting four 6’s and thirteen fours in his 131. He shared a 159 run partnership with Ian Harris, who, on his debut went on to make an unbeaten 65. There were a few nervous moments for Herts before Jay Parmar hit the winning runs with two balls remaining.
