players wanted......
.
We are currently looking to add players to our Hertfordshire Disability squad for the 2023 season.
There will be a winter training programme starting in January. In the summer the team will also compete in a Super 9’s development competition against other counties with fixtures throughout the summer. This is a softball league with development of players and fun at its core. It is the ambition of the county to build a squad strong enough to progress higher up the ECB competitions and eventually compete in a hard ball division
Super 9’s development cricket is open to anyone aged 13 or over with a physical disability, learning disability, neuro diverse condition such as Autism or ADHD, those with hearing difficulties etc. If you believe you would be eligible
The squad will be training on the following dates this winter: 15th, 29th January, 12th, 26th February, 12th, 26th March and the 9th April. Sessions will take place 10 am – Midday at the Ridgeway Academy in Welwyn Garden City. The sessions will focus on teaching technical and tactical aspects of batting, bowling and fielding, in combination with some fun team building activities.
There would be no pressure to attend all sessions and I encourage anyone that wants to give it a go to come along and see how you find it
This is a development competition so whilst some cricket experience is desirable it is not necessarily compulsory. A good sporting ability, understanding of sport and enthusiasm is key! The sessions will a non-pressurised, fun environment in which to make friends and grow a love of the game of cricket
