DREAM BIG
Last weekend we celebrated the fantastic achievements of the Dream Big Desi Women programme, which has reached its target of recruiting 2,000 South Asian women into volunteer roles in cricket.
Funded by Sport England, and rolled out in England’s most ethnically diverse communities, the programme dismantles barriers faced by South Asian women by taking All Stars and Dynamos into non-traditional venues including mosques, temples and gurdwaras.
The occasion was marked as England took on India at Lord’s with a number of the Dream Big volunteers taking part in a lap of honour. Fans at the game could take part in a number of traditional South Asian activities including kite making, while both Sky and TMS interviewed Dream Big staff on air.
