On 01 October the Laws of Cricket changed. MCC are the custodians of the Laws of Cricket and the changes range from the way we talk about cricket to the way it is played all around the world.
While some of the Law changes will predominantly affect the international and professional game, other changes will be noticed throughout the game.
For more details on the changes, click on the link below.
As we wrap up the 2022 season, we are already looking ahead to 2023 and are pleased to share with you the Save The Date for the 2023 National Programme Virtual Roadshow on Monday 12 December 18:30-20:00. The meeting link and the agenda will be shared in due course, but please save this date and time in your diaries.
During the session we will share with you details and direction for the delivery of All Stars Cricket and Dynamos Cricket in 2023 and there will be an opportunity to submit questions on the call.
We very much look forward to seeing you during the session and as always, if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact us via our HELP DESK for All Stars and Dynamos.
Thank you to those of you who attended our Black History Month Game Live session, exploring Allyship for the Black Community in Cricket. We hope you enjoyed the discussion and took away helpful and practical guidance.
If you were unable to attend, the full session is now available to view, featuring insights on allyship from Kick It Out ambassador Professor Robert Beckford, a sharing of recent initiatives from the ACE Programme and Surrey CCC by Chevy Green and Darren Hanley and a Q&A session with cricketer Devon Malcolm and Surrey CCC’s Theresa Peters.
We have created an accompanying allyship toolkit, sharing further guidance, resources and suggested reading on this topic, which is available to view and download here.
These resources are also all available via the Raising The Game webpage here.

As part of the ECB’s Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Action Plan, we have committed to creating game wide employee networks which bring together people from underrepresented groups in cricket. This Race in Cricket employee network will be one of a number of networks including Women In Cricket which has recently been established.
If you are interested in the opportunity to become the Race in Cricket Employee Network Chair please apply via the link below.
As we start to accelerate our planning for the 2023 Season and the future ambitions of the ECB Officiating Department, we’d like to hear from umpires and scorers who officiate within leagues and clubs across the country to understand the current national landscape.
Please see below a link to the survey and we would appreciate your help in sharing this with your officiating panels and individuals who umpire or score for you during a season.
The survey closes at 5:00pm on Friday 9 December and we will share a review of the results and next steps in December 2022 ahead of the 2023 season.
