Dear Clubs
Following the UK Government's announcements this week we know that many of you are waiting on the ECB to issue updated guidance for playing cricket in both England and Wales and we wish to reassure you that we are working on this as an utmost priority.
We are delighted that there are opportunities for cricket to continue to be played at every level throughout the winter but there are of course nuances within the UK Government guidance which mean we must work through these in detail to avoid any confusion.
Next week we will share with you updated guidance for both England and Wales across facility usage, cricket activity, coaching and coach development. In the meantime we urge you to check and follow your local restriction guidance.
In the meantime please find below your weekly update including important information for National Programmes clubs.
STRIPE UPDATE FOR NATIONAL PROGRAMMES CLUBS
It has come to our attention that Stripe has recently contacted some clubs to re-verify their business information as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Please be assured that while we work with them on a way forward, no accounts will be frozen and clubs will not be negatively affected.
We understand that clubs who are currently setup as unincorporated associations will face difficulties verifying their information, as the "non-profit organisation" business category previously selected, can no longer be used. Under these circumstances, please avoid using the business category "individual/sole trader" if suggested by Stripe, as this will require you to provide a tax registration number which you cannot provide.
For unincorporated clubs, we are working with Stripe to create an alternative business category so tax registration details will not be required. Once the solution is available, we will let you know so that you can verify the appropriate business information accordingly.
We would also ask that you ensure your club Treasurer is provided access to the Stripe. Providing two people access ensures that if one person leaves, the account is still accessible.
We have asked Stripe to stop sending you reminder emails and threats of freezing accounts. If you do continue to receive these emails, please do not worry as the Stripe team is aware and is working on a solution.
Finally if you are unable to access your account at this stage, please contact Stripe here. If you are having any issues, please email the ECB here so that we can provide assistance.
We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience in this matter as we attempt to resolve it with Stripe. As mentioned, if you do require any help, please contact us here.
REGULARITY OF COMMUNICATIONS
Over the course of the last 7 months, with the exception of a few weeks, we have sent you weekly bulletins. As the season draws to a close, we naturally have less updates for you and would appreciate your views on how regularly you wish to hear from us. Please click the relevant button below.
Please also let us know if the weekly bulletins would be helpful to receive as and when we move into the 2021 season, regardless of COVID-19 updates.
