Dear All
This week's bulletin contains information on the Women's Big Cricket Month, Monthly Shout Outs, Microsoft Virtual Training Courses, A spotlight on Marshfield CC and Volunteering to support the COVID-19 Vaccination effort.
We want to say an enormous thank you to everyone that played their part in making June the biggest month for women's and girls' cricket yet, with a final total of 738 activities taking place across the country.
Hopefully you've not only been able to celebrate the amazing women and girls within your County who are already involved in the game, but were able to spread the word and reach even more new audiences too. If you haven’t had chance, check out #WomensCricketMonth to take a look at the fantastic stories of the amazing women and girls who are transforming cricket.
Whilst Women's Big Cricket Month might be over, the opportunities to play and watch women's cricket are not, with England on track for an amazing series win against India, and the first game of The Hundred only two weeks away.
This is the most exciting time to be a part of the women's game and you are at the heart of it! Thank you for everything you do to grow and transform women’s and girls’ cricket.
For July our monthly appreciation shout outs will be appreciating coaches working in disability cricket that are striving to make cricket a game for everyone.
The closing date is 19th July 2021.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) recently announced a ground-breaking partnership with Microsoft that will put technology at the heart of delivering long-lasting benefits across all levels of cricket.
The relationship will accelerate the ECB’s strategic plan ‘Inspiring Generations’ to grow cricket, connect communities and improve lives, and aligns with Microsoft’s mission to empower every person and every organisation on the planet to achieve more.
Utilising Microsoft’s world-leading approach to technology the partnership will unlock a range of opportunities from driving innovation across the ECB’s elite teams to providing life-changing skills at grassroots level.
This will provide opportunities to people across cricket, from volunteers to young participants, to develop new life skills. Microsoft have a range of digital skills courses available to the public, which you can find more information by clicking here.
Marshfield is a village situated on the Gloucestershire / Wiltshire border and the cricket club has always been an integral part of the local community. Whilst the club is successful across many of the programmes it delivers, but it is the focus on women's and girls’ cricket that really stands out.
The club has really good leaders who just seem to grasp the importance of providing a high-quality experience for the girls. The focus on female coaches, on providing equal match-play and training opportunities, as well as providing a distinct identity for the girls’ section are just a few examples of how the club is driving such fantastic results.
In terms of the wider community, it is worth noting that over the years the club has done a lot of outreach work in local primary schools, and has also delivered girls taster cricket sessions in local village halls and community centres in neighbouring villages.
Throughout the pandemic cricket has responded with inspirational levels of support for our communities. Whilst it may feel like we’re starting to approach the home straight, there is still so much that needs to be done to help with the continued successful role out of the COVID-19 vaccination programme across the country, and especially in harder to reach areas.
Over 2,000 Steward Volunteers are needed every day to ensure the smooth running of the programme, and the NHS Volunteer Responder programme is looking for new volunteers in areas across England to help fight COVID-19.
If you’re able to, please consider how you, and people at your club could get involved ad help to spread this important message. Visit nhsvolunteerresponders.org.uk to find more information, and volunteer opportunities in your area.
Thank you.
The Hundred begins on July 21 with Oval Invincibles and Manchester Originals Women's teams kicking off the competition. If you’d be interested in making a group booking for your cricket club to attend any matches, fill in the form below and we’ll be in touch very soon.
