Dear All
This week's bulletin contains information on how the ECB are supporting Black History Month.
This October – Black History Month - we are proud to be celebrating the black and bi-racial community’s contribution within our game, both past and present.
What is ECB doing?
As you may have seen over the past week on the various England Cricket and ECB social channels, we are celebrating black and bi-racial members of our cricketing community through sharing the positive work happening at all levels of the game and who they are ‘Proud to Be’, in line with the national theme.
In addition to sharing a plethora of content across our social channels, we will be delivering a series of blog posts, generating earned media opportunities, as well as working with our broadcast partners to amplify the stories that need to be told.
To read the first blog from Pamela Brown – ECB’s newly appointed EDI Director – please click here. Pam shares her experiences, observations, and ambitions for the future of EDI.
Want to get involved?
There are several ways you can get involved:
Please engage with our England Cricket and ECB social channels – we will be sharing stories from players, coaches, colleagues and representatives across the county network. You’re welcome to share these across your local platforms. If you’d like asset support, please reach out to Comms Campaign Lead, Caz Nicholls (caz.nicholls@ecb.co.uk).
We would love to hear any local stories or individuals that celebrate diversity and inclusion. This isn’t isolated to Black History Month – we are committed to a making cricket inclusive across all areas of EDI.

What’s next?
As mentioned above, ECB recently hired Pamela Brown as EDI Director, as well as welcomed Baroness Valerie Amos onto the ECB board. We acknowledge that we have a long way to go but we are committed to taking the right steps to get there.
We are busy putting plans in place for year-round celebrations of diversity and inclusivity within cricket so we please encourage you to share with us any topics, individuals, or positive stories so we can ensure they’ve been captured for acknowledgement and celebration.
