Covid-19 Statement from the League
March 14th, 2020
With the season fast approaching the committee are keeping a close eye on the coronavirus pandemic and the possible ramifications for league cricket this summer.
In the first instance there are concerns over whether the captains’ meeting due to take place on 21 April next at Allianz Park will go ahead. By then there may be Government imposed restrictions relating to large gatherings or our hosts, Saracens, may choose to cancel dependent upon advice from Westminster. Either way we will keep you informed.
It is also worth bearing in mind that self-isolation for those with mild symptoms (the Government’s preferred approach thus far) might mean that player availability and the use of clubs generally could be affected in a major way. We have to keep an open mind at the moment in what is a fast changing scenario but at the moment no options are off the table. Again we will keep you informed.
