BOYS BATTING AWARD – Scott Rolfe
Scott was our leading run scorer with 363 runs including a top score of 114no v North Essex. He is also a fantastic fielder and a great vice captain who is always there for the team.
BOYS ALLROUNDER AWARD – Jack Timms
Due to two injuries to the team’s normal opening attack, Jack was asked to step in and open the attack and did a fantastic job for the team taking 10 wickets with best figures of 2-13 v Suffolk. He also ended the season with a fine 60 v Lincolnshire and is now one of our main all rounders in the side.
GIRLS OUTSTANDING PLAYER AWARD – Gemma Marriott
Gemma averaged 25.00 with the bat including a top score of 37 against Huntingdonshire. Gemma also bowled very tightly with an economy rate of only 3.33.
Under 12s
BOYS BATTING AWARD – Max Lawrance
Max had an outstanding season batting at number 3 in the side. Against most teams he was in facing the new ball and his stroke play and shot selection was excellent. Max scored a few 50s and put the team in very strong positions on a number of occasions. Max finished the season by scoring consecutive 50s on tour and a match winning 30no against Cleveland! Season statistics: 346 runs @ 38.44.
BOYS BOWLING AWARD – Brendan Warren
For the second consecutive season Brendan returned very economical figures. In every game he opened the bowling and bowled tightly whilst also taking early wickets with his nagging line and length and his ability to swing the ball both ways. What was also pleasing was that when Brendan was asked to come back and bowl at the end of the innings he did this to great effect, executing slower balls and yorkers at will. Against Bedfordshire he managed to bowl a double wicket maiden when to win the game, when they only needed 1 run to win. He also took 2 late wickets to secure the win against Cleveland on tour.
Under 13s
BOYS BATTING AWARD – Alex Palmer
Alex, in his first county season, opened the innings in nearly every game and played with maturity. He worked well in practise and played with a good straight bat. When he got in he built an innings and played the short ball well. He also scored runs quickly when required and as a result helped the side win games. Alex has the ability to be a very good batter as he develops.
BOYS BOWLING AWARD – George Garrett
George opened the bowling and bowled consistently on an off stump line and on a good length. As a result, with the support of several good catches in the slips and by the wicket keeper, he regularly took early wickets for not many runs. He also, when returning later in the innings, bowled consistently well with good pace. George was willing to listen to advice and put these plans into practise. George will be a very good opening/change bowler for the rest of his career if he continues to keep to this formula.
Under 14s
BOYS BATTING AWARD – Greg Sumpter
Greg played some very mature innings in high pressure situations, scored runs consistently throughout the season and was the top scorer by a long way. He batted at 3 but was capable of batting anywhere in the top 5 due to being able to adapt to any situation. He executes shots all around the wicket and has a great temperament.
BOYS BOWLING AWARD – Praveen Singh Bhatti
Praveen Singh was injured for the first 4 games of the year, but made a big impact when he did come back. He took 4 wickets against Surrey and consistently took wickets for the rest of the summer. He is very consistent and really set the tone for the team. He is very driven and passionate about his bowling, which has rubbed off on his peers.
Under 15s
BOYS BATTING AWARD – Ian Harris
Ian scored 481 runs at an average of 43.73 with 4 fifties and a highest score of 82 against Suffolk (these figures include U17 matches). Ian also became a regular selection for the U17 team.
BOYS ALL ROUNDER AWARD – Alex Cook
Alex scored 364 runs at an average of 52.00 with 4 fifties and a highest score of 74 against Huntingdonshire, which he repeated against Cumbria. Alex took 13 wickets at an average of 13.77 with an economy rate of 3.01 and a best of 4-43 against Norfolk. (All figures include U17 matches). These performances saw Alex elevated to the U17 team later in the season.
GIRLS BATTING AWARD – Emma Albery
Emma scored 170 runs at an average of 21.25 with a highest score of 85 against Kent Cricket Board. Emma played regularly for the U17 team and also played for the Women’s 1st XI on one occasion.
GIRLS BOWLING AWARD – Chloe Frame

Under 17s
BOYS BATTING AWARD – Tom Colverd
The batsman of the year goes to Tom Colverd for his consistent middle order contributions in all formats of the game. Tom reads the game well and scored his runs at a good rate. He combined excellent running between the wickets taking 1’s and 2’s at will with the ability to play attacking shots all around the wicket. His intelligent performances often led to the team being successful particularly in the one day format and his omission from the team due to family commitments was sorely missed in the one day final.
BOYS BOWLING AWARD – Harry Jerome
Throughout the summer season Harry displayed maturity and cricketing intelligence that allowed him to read match situations very well and adjust his plans accordingly. He did this in both one day and two-day cricket and showed great understanding of the game, which helped his team enormously.
(JOINT) GIRLS BATTING AWARD – Helen Gibson
Helen scored a fine 54no off 105 balls to anchor the innings in the victory over Cambridgeshire Cricket Board.
(JOINT) GIRLS BATTING AWARD – Kathy Morley
Kathy scored 155 runs at an average of 51.67 with a high score of 79 vs Cambridgeshire. Kathy was also a regular member of the Women’s 1st XI.
GIRLS BOWLING AWARD – Chloe Frame
Chloe took 4 wickets at an average of 8.5 and an economy rate of 3.09.
