Business Rates Relief for Cricket Clubs
Businesses in the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors (including sports clubs) in England will not have to pay business rates for the 2020-21 tax year. Local Authorities should have written to your Club if you are eligible for rate relief. However if you haven't been contacted and you think you should be eligible for rate relief then there is an easy way to check the rateable value of your Club via the HMRC Business Rates Postcode Finder
https://www.tax.service.gov.uk/business-rates-find/list-valuations-by-postcode
Simply enter the postcode of your Club, if it has a rateable value then you should see details of either a "sports ground" or "cricket club" and an accompanying link to click on value. Within this it will have a reference number and details of your local authority who you should contact. Please note just because your Club has a rateable value doesn't necessarily mean you will be eligible for rate relief, however it is best to double check.
