The ECB are committed to ensuring that everyone involved in cricket has an appropriate level of safeguarding training. Below is information on the current training offers available for anyone involved in cricket.
INTRODUCTION TO SAFEGUARDING
This free course is available for everyone involved in cricket
Safeguarding is everybody’s responsibility, so whatever your role in cricket, everyone should understand the importance of keeping children, young people and adults safe.
With this in mind, we invite you, and everybody at your club or organisation, to complete our online Introduction to Safeguarding. The training provides basic knowledge and advice in creating a safe cricket environment for everyone, recognising signs of abuse, what to do if you have any concerns or if you are approached by anyone with concerns that they may have.
This training should take around 30 minutes to complete and is accessible on a laptop, tablet or mobile phone. You can access this training by clicking here.
If you have any issues accessing the course, please email elearning@ecb.co.uk.
SAFEGUARDING LEVEL 2
The Cricket Regulator safeguarding team have launched a new online Safeguarding Level 2 qualification.
The Cricket Regulator was established in December 2023 and is the body responsible for monitoring compliance with the game's regulations, enforcement of adherence to those regulations and providing relevant information and education.
The Safeguarding Level 2 course replaces the old Safeguarding for Specialist Roles (SSR) courses and is designed for:
- Coaches or Activators
- Umpires and Scorers
- Committee Members
- Safeguarding Officers
- Captains and Team Managers
The course aims to show the learner how to create a safe and inclusive cricket environment, describe what a safeguarding concern is, how to respond appropriately to concerns, and how to report and record safeguarding concerns.
The course will be accredited for three years following completion.
If you have completed a Safeguarding for Specialist Roles accreditation, you will be required to complete the new Safeguarding Level 2 course when your current qualification lapses (three years after completion of the course).
