Hertfordshire Cricket are committed to making cricket across the county a welcoming, safe, inclusive, and enjoyable sport for everyone. Central to this commitment is fostering a culture of active listening and open communication with all our stakeholders—both young and old.
We especially aim to empower young people to have a voice in our game, creating spaces where they feel confident to share their ideas, raise concerns, and be part of shaping their cricketing experience. Our goal is to inspire the next generation to say with pride:

Adults think they know what children think and what they want but actually it's normally quite different.
The most important thing for a sports leader is knowing how you to communicate with children.
The biggest driver of activity for young people is enjoyment. We need to listen more to children and young people and involve them in decision making to create the type of experiences they want.
By embedding "Listening to Children" in our cricket clubs, we develop and support young people to speak out about unsafe situations.
