From September 2021, Hertfordshire Cricket will run a completely linked performance pathway for Girls from U11 to the Women's 1st XI.
The following has been formulated after lengthy discussion and agreement with the ECB.
U11 TO U14 - COUNTY PERFORMANCE SQUADS
At U11 through to U14 (School Years 6 - 9) Hertfordshire Cricket are running Performance Squads which are the sole feeder to the Summer CAG squads. Girls develop physically and mentally at very different rates. Therefore, Hertfordshire young cricketers will be assessed over a longer period of time before squads are selected in February.
Our remit is the development of each child and helping them become the best adult cricketer they can be. All training and matches will be with a hard ball.
Winter indoor training takes place between September and March. In the summer, for all players from winter, there will be a mixture of training days involving match play scenarios and also intra-squad festival days. All matches and training will be hard ball.
Official CAG matches of a friendly nature will be played by those selected for the summer squads, these are limited in number at the younger ages in line with ECB guidance.
U15 and U18 COUNTY AGE GROUP
At U15/16 and U18 (School Years 10 - 13) Hertfordshire will be running Winter indoor training between October and March and will include strength and conditioning provision. In the summer there will be official ECB 40 Over and T20 competition matches (U15 and U18) as well as some friendlies to take into account the large age gap between U15 and U18 to enable some players to remain in the system who have exceeded the U15 age group but are not yet ready for the main U18 CAG squad.

The full representative side of Hertfordshire County Cricket Club.
In the summer there will be official ECB 50 Over and T20 fixtures and friendlies.
