Cricket Changing Lives - Read the 2025 Impact Report
Chance to Shine are thrilled to share their 2025 Impact Report!
Thanks to the Cricket Boards like Hertfordshire, they reached an incredible 626,863 young people across the UK last year - with half of them girls.
Chance to Shine cricket sessions are making a real difference, with over 90% of teachers reporting improvements in pupils' resilience, self-belief, and teamwork. In 2023/24 alone, Chance to Shine coaches delivered nearly 128,000 hours of cricket, reaching almost a quarter of all state primary schools in England and Wales.
Their commitment to the most under-served communities continues, with 274 Street Cricket clubs providing free, weekly sessions in some of the most deprived areas. 87% of young participants told us they feel closer to their community thanks to the programme.
One example of their impact is The Mill Academy in Barnsley, where 45% of pupils are eligible for free school meals. Teacher Jayne Clapham shares: “Before Chance to Shine, many children didn’t even know how to hold a cricket bat. Now, they all want to take part. Cricket is keeping them active, engaged, and out of trouble at lunchtimes”. Read more about their story here.
They're not stopping here. By 2028, they aim to reach 1 million young people every year.
