Nominations for the Hertfordshire Cricket Pathway are now closed. The coaches are currently assessing the forms. Those nominated will receive an email in due course inviting them to an assessment session where applicable. Thank you to to all the clubs and Schools who have taken the time to nominate players.
Please note that parents, family and friends are not permitted to nominate players. Pathway players need to play for a Hertfordshire based cricket club (accordingly to the ECB map boundaries) which is affiliated to Hertfordshire Cricket. A list of the qualifying clubs can be found on this page.
The Hertfordshire Cricket Talent Support Fund exists to help talented players whose family financial situation would be a barrier to them being part of our County Age Group programme. There is no fee for trials.
THESE NOMINATIONS ARE FOR BOYS ONLY. ONCE THE GIRLS NOMINATION PROCESS IS OPEN A LINK WILL BE POSTED ON OUR WEBSITE.
U10-U12
PLEASE BE ADVISED that the Charley Cricket Programme (U10-U12) is the start of our Performance Pathway and nominations are NOT REQUIRED for this age group.
U13-U15
Players who are currently part of our Charley Cricket Programme do not need to be nominated as they will be continually assessed and considered for the next stage of our pathway. U13s that have not been part of the current Charley Cricket programme can be nominated to be considered for the Performance Pathway. This programme runs in venues around the county.
Our U13 County Age Group (CAG) squad will be selected from the U13 Performance squad in February after winter training has finished. The rest of the players will be invited to continue in the Development squad during the summer.
The Development Programme starts at U13 and finishes at U15 and is the entry point to the County Age Group programme. Please ONLY nominate talented players that are NOT already part of the Development or CAG programme.
U16-U18
If you have players in older age groups (U16-U18) who are not currently within our pathway who you wish us to consider for our CAG squad then please use the same form. As there is no Development programme at this age group players need to be excellent fielders, have good fitness levels in addition to their ability with the bat and ball. As a guide they will be playing regular adult in cricket in Herts Saracens league Division 6 or above and be performing well at this level.
Please ONLY nominate talented players that are NOT already part of the Charley Cricket, Development or CAG programmes. Players need to have been representative club players for a Hertfordshire based club for at least the current season.
For an explanation as to how the Performance Pathway works please refer to the Hertfordshire Performance Boys Pathway.
For assistance with the identification of players please refer to the Talent Development Framework.
Players who are already part of another county pathway ie Essex, Bucks, Middlesex, Cambs, Beds etc (including other county area, district, borough programmes but not the Hertfordshire Area programme which is not linked to our county pathway) ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR NOMINATION. If players are being nominated for other counties for next season, then please DO NOT nominate them for Hertfordshire. We work with all of our neighbours to ensure that players only trial for one county in a season. This is only fair to players who are only eligible for one county.
If you have any questions regarding this then please contact Tanya Whitton tanya.whitton@hertscricket.org 07393 766435
We will work through all applications over the coming weeks and will contact parents directly if their child is to be invited to attend any trials which will take place in late August / early September. We cannot guarantee that all nominated players will be invited to attend.
Due to time constraints, we do not expect to be able to accept late nominations.
