HERTFORDSHIRE CRICKET LIMITED
Our EDI strategy outlines three target areas:
- Engaging with deprived communities who don’t currently have access to sport. Whilst re engaging with communities such as the Afro-Caribbean communities who have fallen away from cricket.
- Untapped talent and closing the gap between state school talent and the private school system.
- Growing disability cricket at a club level and a county representative level.
COMMUNITY CRICKET
We aim to provide cricket to those that do not currently have access to
- Top 10% Nationally - Borehamwood
- Top 20% Nationally - Waltham Cross, Watford, Stevenage
STRATEGY
- Chance to Shine focus in these areas to spark the interest for cricket
- Street Cricket hubs
- Community Champion recruitment
- Engagement with local clubs where possible or longer term establish new clubs
- New clubs integrated into Herts leagues within 10 years
DISABILITY CRICKET
We aim to expand disability cricket within the county. We currently have a senior representative side but we want more
STRATEGY
- 4 Disability Champion Clubs
- Schools programme following Covid isolation
- Table cricket tournaments
- Super 1s and Super 9s
UNTAPPED POTENTIAL
We aim to increase the number of state school children in our pathway by 25%
STRATEGY
- Enhanced bursary scheme for those who currently don’t have the funds
- Improved scouting network to find talent outside the traditional routes
- Increased schools festivals to showcase talent
