at the Chance to Shine National School Awards.....
.
On Thursday 21st November, Chance to Shine held their annual school awards at Lords, recognising achievements and celebrating successes, across the country in the delivery of cricket in schools and the community through it's County Board network partners.
We were delighted to attend and have the pleasure of being joined by teachers and students of The Nobel School in Stevenage, as we had two nominations shortlisted for the awards - for the delivery of our programme run throughout the 2023/24 Academic Year, where we had nominations for Secondary School of the Year and Young Person of the Year.
We were thrilled that The Nobel School were successful and recognised as Secondary School of the Year, which is an incredible result and shows that with the right support, passion and drive, what can be achieved in a short time.
The Nobel School has seen a significant growth in cricket participation through the Chance to Shine programme. 150 pupils engaged in taster sessions, leadership training and extra-curricular sessions. The students have supported their cricket sessions in curriculum time, allowing their peers to experience new and exciting games. Towards the end of the academic year, the girls put their skills and knowledge to the test at a number of external competitions, where they have led with confidence and remained professional throughout.
