Hertfordshire Cricket were saddened to hear the news of the death of Dilip Doshi, at the age of 77.
Dilip was one of the finest slow left-arm bowlers of his generation and he helped to establish India as a leading force in world cricket. The left-arm spinner represented India in 33 Test matches and 15 ODIs between 1979 and 1983.
In 1976 he played Minor Counties cricket for Hertfordshire, and was Man of the Match in our Gillette Cup triumph over Essex with bowling figures of 4/23
Dilip Doshi is survived by his wife Kalindi, and by their daughter Vishakha and son, Nayan, who followed his father into first-class cricket, playing for Surrey and Derbyshire.
