HCL is pleased to announce the appointment of three new Directors.
All will be familiar to many in cricket in Hertfordshire as they have been tireless volunteers as well as players and officials for many years.

Geoff Newman - Geoff was a Director of HCL for nine years before standing down early in 2023. To most though he will be the long term Chair of Harpenden Cricket Club as well as stalwart of many club elevens in the lower leagues. Rumour also has he gave a few decisions to which no doubt many batters felt aggrieved. In his first stint with HCL Geoff was a very effective Finance Director but on his return he has been nominated as the new Chair, replacing Nick Gilbert who after 12 years outstanding service for the county as Chair stood down at the AGM in January.

Hilary Stiffin – Hilary is a current mens 1ST XI scorer, stalwart of North Mymms and also an officer of the Saracens Herts Premier Cricket League (SHPCL). With a background in finance Hilary is the new appointed Finance Director and also will represent specifically the County Association of Cricket Officials.

The final new Director is Tony Skeggs, a long term player and member of both Knebworth Park CC and Welwyn Garden City CC. Tony also represented the full county side many times and is currently involved at WGCCC. Tony will also help the link between the county and SHPCL.

Many thanks to all three for volunteering for HCL and to all the other candidates that applied that were unsuccessful this time.
