Chance to Shine has today announced the release of its 2026 Impact Report, with over 600,000 young people having benefited from the charity’s programmes across the United Kingdom – 51% of which were girls.
Our focus continues to be on supporting children who face barriers to taking part in physical activity. 58% of the schools that received our six-week Whole School Programme had a higher than average number of pupils eligible for free-school-meals.
The report highlights the significant impact of the charity’s cricket sessions, with 94% of teachers reporting an increase in pupils’ interest in playing cricket outside of school, while 80% confirmed their school’s interest in keeping cricket within their sports curriculum for the following year.
In total Chance to Shine coaches delivered cricket to:
302
Street Clubs
71% of Street cricketers were from minority ethnic backgrounds, whilst 94% of Street participants surveyed told us they made new friends and met people from different backgrounds.
Children also had the chance to take part in competitive cricket through our programmes, with 113,131 pupils taking part in primary school competitions, and 14,528 in our Chance to Compete secondary offering.
Thank you for your support - none of this would be possible without you!
