O&S won the toss & put HHCC into bat on a wet green wicket. The O&S opening bowlers caused the batsman plenty of problems with the ball beating the bat on numerous occasions & were rewarded when Niven removed Macdougall for 0. Chris Gray joined Harry Di-lieto at the crease & the pair put on 40 runs in the next 6 overs, albeit with some good fortune. Di-lieto finally fell for 23 to Hassan the pick of the O&S bowlers. Joe Bigley came to the wicket with the score on 42 & proceeded to increase the scoring rate to over 6 an over finishing on an unbeaten 43. He was ably supported by Harry Butrimas-Gair 12 & James Smith 10 who were both run out looking for quick runs.
O & S opening pair of Hassan & Kelly faced a difficult spell of accurate fast bowling from HHCC’s opening attack of Joe Bigley & Gregor Mackintosh & struggled to get 12 off the first 5 overs, before Mackintosh claimed the wicket of Kelly for 7. Hassan who was so impressive with the ball, was by far O & S’s best batsman being the only player to get to double figures finally being out for 36 in the 17th over. HHCC’s bowlers continued to take regular wickets with O & S finishing on 89 for 7. Matt Catterick 3 – 9 & John Atkins 1 -7 being the pick of the bowling.
